The Arrangement, Nashville & More Renewals From This Week

RuPaul’s Drag Race and Grace & Frankie weren’t the only shows to receive renewals this week. A slew of other shows also received the go-ahead for another season.

Kyle West (Josh Henderson) and Megan Morrison (Christine Evangelista) will have to keep up the charade for a bit longer. E! extended its contract with The Arrangement for a sophomore season. The show follows a young actress who enters a fake relationship with a big-time movie star who, belonging to a Scientology-esque organization.

“We are thrilled to see the show resonate with viewers and gain momentum throughout the season,” Adam Stotsky, President of E! Entertainment and Esquire Network, said in a statement. “Continuing to fuel our audience’s passion for pop culture and celebrity, The Arrangement allows us to reveal a darker side of Hollywood that has never been seen before.”

CMT rescues Nashville again. The network previously resurrected the country drama after ABC canceled it. It appears it’s pleased with the show’s performance. Nashville will live to see another day. It’s been renewed for a shortened sixth season. It’ll air 16 as opposed to the twenty-something episodes it has in the past. Season 6 will premiere in 2018.

“The devoted Nashie fan base has generated record-breaking numbers for CMT,” CMT President Brian Philips said. “Nashville ranks as the network’s highest-rated and most-watched show in the network’s history, averaging 2.1 million weekly viewers.”

Over at Syfy, The Magicians received a 13-episode third season. Hulu did the same with The Path. The Aaron Paul series also picked up a 13-episode third season.
