Well for my Valentine’s Day, I watched some Olympics, then the season premiere of The Amazing Race with my dogs – very romantic. Here are the lucky teams competing in this season, which is supposedly going to be one of the toughest yet:

Team Cute Bros: Dan & Jordan
Team Dad & Daughter: Steve & Allison
Team Granny-Child: Jody & Shannon
Team Lesbos: Carol & Brandy
Team Wang: Joe & Heidi
Team Mommas: Monique & Shawne
Team Models: Brent & Caite
Team Detectives: Louis & Michael
Team Cowboys: Jet & Cord
Team Highschool Sweethearts: Dana & Adrian
Team Big Brother: Jordan & Jeff

As Phil starts the game with the teams in Los Angeles, he lets the teams know that their first clue will be found in an envelope on their bags, which they have to run to. When they get their clue, they have to figure out how to get to the airport using public transportation. There will be two flights available, but only the first 3 teams will get tickets on first flight. One hour later, the remaining teams will board the second flight. As always, the first team to cross finish line after 12 lags, wins $1 million.

The teams are flying to Santiago, Chili. The Lesbos complain that using public transportation to them is comparable to not using the valet parking – no one uses public transportation in LA. Hilarious. They must take transit to Union Station, then take the Fly Awa to get to the airport. Jeff & Jordan (Team Big Brother), Dana & Adrian (Team Highschool Sweethearts), and Monique & Shawne (Team Mommas) are the first three teams to get their tickets, and are thus on the first flight. Team Lesbos are on the first team on the second flight. Brandy, one of the Lesbos, wishes that the first flight has mechanical difficulty. She gets her wish. All three teams end up rebooking their flight onto the second flight, meaning that all teams are in the same boat – well same plane, in this case. This is Big Brother Jordan’s first time out of the country. They are flying through Miami to Santiago, Chile, then they’ll head over to Valparaiso, Chili. It’s known as the San Fran of South America. Once they get there, it’s bus, then cab. Team Models are in the lead, followed by Team Big Brother.

Team Models get to the Road Block first. It’s Cable Walking on a cable that is 120ft above ground at a length of a football field. Caite is up for the Challenge for Team Models, while Jordan goes for Team Big Brother. Team Wang in 3rd place and Joe does it for them. Dan does it for the Cute Boys team – he’s the cuter one too. The Allie does for Team Dad-Daughter, while Brandy does it for Team Lesbos.

Team Models finish first and now must head down a funicular called Ascensor Atilleria down the hillside for the next clue. They decide to walk down?? Meanwhile, Dan falls off the cable and is hanging. He decides to pull himself across rather than walk. Nice work. Adrian decides to go for Team High School Sweethearts. Team Lesbo’s Brandy is freaking out on the cable saying. “I can do this,” when she’s not really believing herself as she says it.

Now, Team Cute Boys are in 3rd Place, Team Big Brothers in 2nd, and Team Models in 1st. The next task is painting. They get four cans of paint & supplies (including a ladder) and they have to find a house on Templeman Street matching their paint color, and finish painting it to get their next clue.

Allie for Team Dad & Daughter are now in 4th place. She totally kicked butt on the wire. Team Wang are in 5th. Team Lesbos in 6th, and so on. Team Big Brother find their house first, and Team Models find theirs next.

After they finishing painting, they must find their way to a chalet called Palacia Babarizza – this is their Pitstop. Jeff & Jordan are in the lead. Adrian and Louie are still on the wire. The Granny-Child team’s Shannon finishes up the wire, while Louie passes Adrian on the wire. Adrian falls off the cable and gets taken. Cord from the Cowboys goes onto the wire now.

Jeff & Jordan are the first team to arrive! They won a trip for two to VANCOUVER! Come visit me! They’ll be staying at the Sutton Place Hotel, will get to go whale watching and venture to Whistler to try the Skeleton.

The Models are the second team to arrive, but get a 30 minute penalty for not taking the Veniculor down and walking instead. Meanwhile, the Team Cute Bros realize they are missing a paint brush, but have to keep going anyway.

The second 3rd team to arrive is Team Mommas, but they are actually 2nd because of the penalty on Team Models. Team Cowboys become Team 3 – holy comeback, Batman! Man they’re hot. The 4th Team to arrive is Team Cute Boys, but after losing a brush, they incur a 15 minute penalty. Team Dad & Daughter become Team number four, followed by Team Wang as team 5, Team Lesbos as team 6, Team models as team 7and Team Cute Boys as team 8. Surprised by their low placement, Team Detectives are team number 9. Meanwhile, Adrian falls off the wire again. Granny-Child are now Team 10 and because they didn’t check in to the Pitstop, Team High School Sweethearts are the first team eliminated off Amazing Race 16.
