Last time, two teams were kicked out in the season premiere of Season 15 of the series. The pit stop at the end of the last episode (second pit stop for the race) was a riverboat. As this episode starts, the remaining teams are aboard the boat and as it motors away, they have know idea where they are headed. We know that they are off to Vietnam.

Okay, just in case you’re tuning into my recap for the first time, I’ve made names for each of the teams. They are:

HomoBros: Dan & Sam
The Americas: Ericka & Brian
Dad and Son: Gary & Matt
Easy Time: Herbert & Nathaniel
The Annoyings: Lance & Keri
The Oldies: Marcy & Ron
The Poker Girls: Maria & Tiffany
The Lovebirds: Meghan & Cheyne
The Christians:Mika & Canaan
The Besties: Zev & Justin

Since they were first Dad & Son get to get off the dock first at 5:45am. Once off, they have to take a taxi to Ho Chi Minh city taxi and find The Golden Dragon Water Puppet Theatre, where they’ll find these dragon puppets that hold a clue in their mouth. Next up are The GayBros that are doing well, but Dan is pretty impatient and antsy, whereas Dan Sam is go with the flow and has to try to keep him calm. Pair by pair, each of the other teams get to make their journey to the theater. It’s a two hour taxi ride. Eww.

Once they are able to grab the tongue of the quick moving dragon puppet, they find it holds a bullet with a stamp in it. Each team quickly figure out that they are looking for the building shown on stamp, which happens to be the main post office. There they’ll find the next clue there.

The clue they get there is a Detour. They get to choose between the commotion of the big city or a city park. Child’s Play or Work Play. For Child’s Play, they must each transport a heavy concrete animal and pick up 5 different colored baloons from vendors along the way, and deliver balloons & animals to their destination in the park. For Work Play, the teams must make their way to the top of a hotel at the observation deck and identify six correct letters on moving parcels on bikes, and correct six letters from people “doclap” (the Japanese word for independence).

Meanwhile, The Annoyings don’t know to open their clue (bullet) but finally figure out to look for building in stamp. They’re obviously totally fighting along the way, hence their name.

The only team to select word play are The Oldies. They ended up finding the letters, except had mistaken a D for an O, but eventually figured it out.

Easy Time remains in first place and they are very careful whilst transporting their concrete sheep. They are now on the way to Dien Co 008 by taxi, a busy intersection to find their next clue. The Besties take the giraffe because it was closest. The giraffe was the biggest one to transport and balance. Of course, it fell over. As part of the rules, they have to pick up the broken pieces and transport those as well.

The Americas pick the zebra because they have black & white skin, and the zebra is black & white. Really? That’s why you picked it? Oy.

Roadblock: Chop Shop. In order to get their next clue, next the teams have to breakdown a VCR and sort & toss the pieces into two separate piles. Easy Time is still in first place. They are now on their way to Reunification Palace, race across town to the symbolic location of where the vietnam war ended. The Oldies remain in last place, the only team that had done Work Play. Meanwhile, The GayBros keep fighting.

The first team to arrive was Easy Time, winning a 5-night trip to Aruba! The Romantics were SO close…but alas, came in second. As the other teams are each in their cabs, Marcy goes to Ron in their cab,”If you do not have patience with the opposite sex then you should not live on this planet earth.”

The rest of the standings went as followed:

3. Dan & Son
4. The Americas
5. The Gay Bros
6. The Poker Girls
7. The Christians
8. The Besties
9. The Annoyings
10. The Oldies

As the last team to arrive, The Oldies are now eliminated from the race. I hope that The Annoyings are next. I think the GayBros need to figure out their petty drama disputes in order to start kicking but again. The most efficient teams with the least drama are the ones in first and second. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that that is their attitude and that’s how well they’re doing.

The oldies Marcy & Ron. Last to arrive. Eliminated from the race. Marcy was grateful to have been on the race and that she got to be in Vietnam, since her father had been shot in Vietnam during the war in 1968, and recovered.
