Coming Soon: The Adjustment Bureau

The first time I saw this trailer, I knew that this movie was right up my alley. It combines all of my favorite things: science fiction, action adventure and romance. It stars Matt Damon and Emily Blunt. Damon plays a man running for senator and Emily plays a female stranger he meets in passing. However, a special group of ‘angels’ known as The Adjustment Bureau come between them as according to their plan, they are not supposed to be together.

The film is loosely based on a short story titled Adjustment Team written by Philip K. Dick. Universal Studios won the rights to the film through a media auction and started work on the production in early 2009. With a $51 million dollar budget, I’m sure this flick will pack a blockbuster punch. The film is directed by George Nolfi. This is his directorial debut as usually he is the man who pens the screenplay. He helped write The Bourne Ultimatum and Ocean’s Twelve just to name a couple.

Opening in theatres March 4th, the anticipation for this Bourne Identity meets Inception romance thriller is high. The opening critic remarks have been positive but only the box office will tell. It opens with some smaller films like Beastly and Take Me Home Tonight but may face a bit of competition with Johnny Depp’s, Rango. Check out the trailer and the featurette to see what this film is all about.
