Movie Review: The Adjustment Bureau

Starring: Matt Damon and Emily Blunt.

The Adjustment Bureau is an entertaining romantic-action flick staring the Devil Bourne Wearing Prada couple Matt Damon and Emily Blunt. Both have a believable on screen chemistry that I found more and more appealing as the film progressed. I was surprised by how much this film focused on the love story between Emily and Matt; the trailers setup more of a Matrix style film in my mind. I was also surprised by how many religious references were incorporated. I actually like the way that they were able to weave the hand of god throughout the entire plot.

Working for a large corporation I also enjoyed the comparisons between this divine organization and a typical corporate structure, especially the “just a cog in the machine” feeling that is experienced by most corporate workers. Have you ever met the chairman of your company?

My biggest criticism was over the latter part of the movie -there was a satisfying ending but it seemed a little easy given then initial buildup.

Overall, I hope my cryptic review of The Adjustment Bureau encourages you to go and see the film –it’s worth the time!
