WATCH OUT! HERE COME THE HOUSEWIVES…WITH BALLS! Logo just released the first of what I’m sure will be an onslaught of promotion for its new highly-anticipated series, “The A-List: New York“. The nine-episode series docu-reality series will follow the lives of “the most envied and sought-after men of New York City as they live the high life hopping from boardroom to benefit to beach house to bedroom.” Their words, not mine.
Sounds like some addictive guilty pleasure viewing. We all know what happens when a bunch of catty women are put together thanks to Bravo’s “The Real Housewives of…” series. Just imagine all the gay drama and tears when a bunch of homos try to out-do each other. In fact, the producers of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” produced this show for Logo. DRAMZ, DRAMZ, DRAMZ. Watch it all unfold when “The A-List: New York” premieres on Monday, October 4th on Logo.
As spoiled in an earlier post, the series will follow The Amazing Race winner/actor/model/Lance Bass’ former boyfriend Reichen Lehmkuhl, his Brazilian model boyfriend Rodiney Santiago, renowned celebrity photographer and RuPaul’s Drag Race and America’s Next Top Model staple Mike Ruiz, international model (and Marc Jacobs’ former flame) Austin Armacost, modeling agent Derek Lloyd Saathoff, and ultra-high-end salon owner Ryan Nickulas.

Actor, model, author, activist, air force pilot, jewelry designer and one-time winner of CBS’ “The Amazing Race,” there is little Reichen has not conquered. Though most infamous for being the ex-boyfriend of *NSYNC’s lance bass, Reichen is in New York to make his Off-Broadway debut.
Patrick, Brian, Adam and I have met and partied with Reichen before. Contrary to a lot of bad press he’s received before, he’s actually a really nice and soft spoken guy. I’m looking forward to watching him on the series. We’ve watched two of his previous relationships unfold in the public eye before, so it’ll be interesting to see what goes on behind closed doors with his hot Brazilian boyfriend and him. Expect to see lots of shirtless moments from Reichen. If I had his body, I’d be naked all the time.

A celebrity photographer, video director and superstar in his own right, Mike Ruiz’ client list is a “who’s who” of A-List glitterati: Tyra, Dolly, RuPaul, Beyonce, Justin, 50, Britney and Christina. A fan favorite on “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” “America’s Next Top Model” and “My Life on the D-List,” Mike is a legend in the making, one who has become very much a part of the A-List crowd he captures on film.
WOOF. Here’s another one from the cast, I’ve had a chance to talk with and meet. During my interview with him, he made me feel like we had been friends for years. Once you get him talking, there’s no stopping him. Considering he’s photographed some of the most famous celebrities out there, he’s very down-to-earth and no ounce of diva-dom. Take a lesson, J.Lo. From a little town in Quebec, Canada to the Big Apple. You go girrrrrrrrl.

Hailing from Brazil, Rodiney has found success as a model in Los Angeles and Miami. He has accompanied his boyfriend, Reichen Lehmkul, to New York, to stake his claim in the modeling capitol of the world.
Thankfully this show is airing on Logo, which means lots of sexy half-naked shots of this Brazilian model. As mentioned during my comment about Reichen, it’ll be interesting to see a more indepth look at their relationship, like who’s a top or a bottom. Inquiring minds want to know people. With them being the only couple in the cast, I expect to see lots of fighting and relationship drama. God knows, if I was on the show, you’d see me uncensored.

This southern boy seemed an unlikely candidate for the A-List growing up, but his drive and career in model management has afforded him luxuries people his age only dream about. Derek rubs elbows with celebrities and is seen every night on the party circuit, looking for the right (rich) man, who can match his lifestyle, enabling Derek to retire at 27.
I’ve know a few “Dereks” in my time. They’re fun, but they are Trouble with a capital T. With his quest for the perfect sugar daddy, I’m sure he’ll provide most of the superficial drama on the show. What can you expect from some person who gets botox while in their 20s. I’m going to go out on a limb here, but I think this one is going to annoy the shizz out of me. I’ll keep an open mind, but me no likey what I’ve seen so far in the trailer.

Austin returns to New York after a highly publicized breakup from designer Marc Jacobs a year-and-a-half ago. He left New York shortly after, modeling and living in London and Los Angeles. Now Austin is back in NYC to reclaim his spot on the A-List. Last time the paparazzi and gossip columns had a field day with him because of who he was dating. This time, he is braving them alone.
There’s no denying Reichen and Rodiney are smoking hot, but I think this former model will be my show crush. He’s cute (obviously) and he looks absolutely adorable during his confessionals. But I fear he might be a homewrecker. The trailer has a clip of him and Reichen clinking champagne glasses then a voiceover saying “we know someone cheated”. JUICY.

A salon owner and beauty expert, Ryan is on the brink of engineering a lifestyle empire. Legally married to his partner, they enter the next phase of their relationship as they pursue adding children to their family, and to their penthouse and summer home, of course.
From the clips, I think Ryan will be the biggest DIVA and my favorite. I love me a bitchy catty gossipy queen. He managed to drop morsels of gossip within the short confines of the trailer. Love IT. Also, his reaction during a gay brawl at a restaurant cracked me up. Yes, ya’ll, there’s a big ol gay fist fight. I predict he’ll be a breakout star.

this reminds me of an article that one of us wrote… hmmmm…
also, that ryan nikulas needs to use some of that money he has to hire a DIFFERENT stylist, cause homegirl’s outfits are not lookin’ too hot. there’s only one person who can ‘pay this much to look this cheap’ and that’s Ms. Parton.

You can tell this is scripted and not real gay life, otherwise Nyashia would be ostracized. She is a loudmouthed wanna-be, I haven’t watched nearly as much as I did before she appeared. Each time I watch now I don’t watch a full show, she turns me off, I’ve never seen anything she is selling anywhere, yet she pretends to be a force in the hair industry. Please reconsider her part in this show, if this were really reallity, all the queens would have joined forces, and pulled her wig off, or is she really a man????? The Show isn’t the same since she came.

I consider the “A-List” to really be the D-LIST when comparing what they are trying to sell as reality! They are, “as most straight folks peg us” a bunch of over stuffed Queens who feed off of the drama and destruction of the weaker members of the club….and that women, Neasha?? Who thought it would be great idea to bring in the “sassy black chic” as if they are not already slathered in stereo types and drama!! I say be gay be proud but don’t feed the monster! Many of us hard working gay men and women are just trying to be better than the negative crap that we hear ever day….It may be entertaining but they are hurtful, spiteful, self-serving, fags with money! I am a much better person and a much better friend then they will ever be.
OK great thanks…have a queer day!
LOGO you can do better!

The A-List reminds me alot of how I see many of the gay guys in Mass precieve themselves. As a 33 year old Southern born gay man I percieve the A-list guys as a lot of self absorbed conceded ass hole that think their shit don’t stink. As far as AUSTIN- someone really need to f**king bitch slap that stupid asshole dead in his mouth. He is hurtful and spiteful and give all gays a bad name.
As far as Reichen will you MARRY ME???
