Often times the lyrics to a love song paint the picture of a romantic chance encounter and love at first site. Does that happen in real life? One YouTube personality named Tommy Woolridge wants a girlfriend so he figured he’d try something different.

Wooldridge explains, “I want a girlfriend like Taylor Swift, so I decided to see if Taylor Swift’s lyrics could be used as pick up lines. Awkwardness ensues.” As you can expect, the reactions vary but they’re all quite humorous. Of course this isn’t the first time such awkward situations have been documented on YouTube. Another YouTube personality named Andrew Hales has made several videos where he does awkward things like hold hands with strangers, or stares at them in intimate settings, etc.
