Guess everything that’s old is new again. Hot off the heels of 90s R&B girl group SWV popping up on Chris Brown’s new hot remix, another pop superstar from yesteryear is staging a comeback. Taylor Dayne, one of my favorite 80s and 90s pop dance diva is dropping her new single this Friday. “Floor On Fire” will combine her signature big voice with today’s sound. I can’t friggin’ wait to hear it. It’ll be released on June 17 and available on all online stores worldwide.
For those of you, who have no idea who Taylor Dayne is, she’s pop star royalty. She’s sorta the Anastasia from her day. During the course of her career, she’s sold more than 75 million albums and produced seventeen Top 20 hits including, “Tell It To My Heart”, “Love Will Lead You Back”, “Prove Your Love To Me” and many more. In recent years, she’s shown her love to the gays by performing the official anthem of the Gay Games VIII in Cologne. Reportedly, she received a standing ovation that lasted for more than five minutes. Here’s a fun fact. When Paula Abdul left “American Idol“, Rolling Stone Magazine readers voted Taylor as their first choice to replace Abdul. Unfortunately, due to previous commitments, Dayne had to decline the opportunity.
