Netflix Gives First Look At Upcoming Revival Of ‘Armistead Maupin’s Tales of the City’

Murray Bartlett as “Michael ‘Mouse’ Tolliver”; Laura Linney as “Mary Ann Singleton”
Two years after Netflix first announced plans to revive Tales of the City, we finally have our first official stills. Expect a trailer to arrive soon since the 10-episode limited series is set to premiere this summer.

Inspired by the books of Armistead Maupin, Netflix Original Limited Series Armistead Maupin’s Tales of the City begins a new chapter in the beloved story. Mary Ann (Laura Linney) returns to present-day San Francisco and is reunited with her daughter Shawna (Ellen Page) and ex-husband Brian (Paul Gross), twenty years after leaving them behind to pursue her career. Fleeing the midlife crisis that her picture-perfect Connecticut life created, Mary Ann is quickly drawn back into the orbit of Anna Madrigal (Olympia Dukakis), her chosen family and a new generation of queer young residents living at 28 Barbary Lane.

Tales of the City originally aired in 1993. The outstanding miniseries earned PBS its highest ratings, won a Peabody Award and was nominated for two Primetime Emmys. Linney, Dukakis, Barbara Garrick and Paul Gross all reprise their original roles. Joining them is a talented and diverse cast, which includes Victor Garber, Zosia Mamet, Looking alum Murray Bartlett, Bob The Drag Queen and Chicago Fire star Charlie Barnett.
