Its that time again to lose another amazing dancer of this season. Who danced hard enough to make you vote?

The evening begins with an Austin Powers meets Janet Jackson group routine. The piece is super stylized and in my opinion, the dancers missed it completely. I didn’t feel enough commitment to the movement which is disappointing because I was loving on the choreography. The end groove section was great but did anyone else notice that the moves didn’t match the music? Ouch. Leah hits the stage and thanks Mia Michaels for the routine. Loved the routine, just wanted more from it. Denys really shone in the piece for me. If you guys PVR’d it, watch it again. This style works perfect for him. Moving on.

After Leah explains how tonight will work, she calls up the first couples which include Denys and Amanda, Jonathan and Kloe, Janick and Shavar and Jera and Kirsten. One of the first two couples is in danger but who will it be? Denys and Amanda get praised for their Quick Step but Leah states that the judges liked, not loved the West Coast Swing. After revealing that Denys and Amanda are safe, Jonathan and Kloe think they are in the bottom. However, Leah fools them and says in actual fact, they’re safe. Janick and Shavar and Jera and Kirsten are up next and Leah states that one or both of these couples are in the bottom. Both had Hip Hop last night but very different styles. Janick and Shavar had a hard hitting number that impressed the judges and Jera and Kirsten had a fun number that judges thought was okay. Janick and Shavar are safe and for the second time, Jera and Kirsten find themselves in the bottom.

Leah calls up the second group of couples which includes Edgar and Claudia, Charlene and Jeff, Mackenzie and Nathalie, Jessie and Julia and Sebastian and Danielle. The recaps role as we prepare to hear the news. Two couples in the group are in the bottom, but who will it be? Claudia and Edgar lost their partners last week and with no luck, find themselves in the bottom this week. Charlene and Jeff and Nathalie and Mackenzie are next. The judges loved Charlene and Jeff’s Hustle but weren’t the guns a blaze for Nathalie and Mackenzie’s Cha Cha. To their relief, both couples find themselves in the Top 16 for next week. That leaves us with Jesse and Julia and Sebastian and Danielle. One couple is safe and the other must dance for their lives. Both couples were in their own style but found criticism from the judges in both numbers. Sebastian and Danielle are first to hear and they are safe. Jesse and Julia head back stage to prepare their solos.

So the bottom couples are Jesse and Julia, Edgar and Claudia and Jera and Kirsten just as I predicted. Lets see how the solos turn out.

First up are the girls and Kirsten starts us off. She shows a lot of skin in her pink bikini but her moves are disjointed and her music choice is odd. Her legs and extension is beautiful but will it be enough to save her? Claudia hits the floor in a gorgeous black dress and When I Grow Up by the PCD. She begins her ballroom solo with a beautiful smile but lacks what I’ve seen from other ballroom girls in other seasons which is a strong hit. Julia hits the floor in an amazing silver toga covering a black bikini. HOT MAMA! Her solo packs the punch that Claudia lacks, so which ballroom girl will stay or is Kirsten headed back home?

The boys return after the break to dance for their lives. First up Jera, shirtless and in jeans. His routine starts very athletically and then he begins to show his technique. His power is great but flexibility disappears in his too-tight pants. Edgar follows with the best Ne-Yo song EVER! His solo is full of swagger and charisma. Without a doubt, he proved his worthiness to be here. Last up is Jesse with a contemporary solo. His solo is full of emotion, turns, jumps and acro but has he finally shown the judges why he deserves to stay?

After watching the solos, the girls are a toss up. Kirsten and Claudia had weaker solos than Julia so either of them could go home. Jera had the weaker solo for me out of the boys but will Edgar’s constant ticket to the bottom find him leaving tonight? Or has Jesse ran out of chances with the judges? Leah dismisses the judges as we head to commercial break. The judges must now decide which guy and which girl will be sent home tonight.

The results are in and we start with the girls. All of them looked so nervous as Jean Marc begins. He states they are all beautiful dancers and wishes he could keep them all. The one to leave tonight is Julia. WHAT!?! Are you serious? Absolutely not deserved at all. I am so proud of her for repping it for all the mothers who dance out there and thought she brought it every week. Claudia and Kirsten are lucky after those solos.

The boys are up next. Jesse must be stressed seeing his partner leave before finding out his results. The boys line up and Tre begins her speech stating that the decision in not unanimous. Jera is informed that he must leave the competition through Tre fighting out the words in tears.

So there you have it. Jera and Julia are out and the rest have made Top 16 (shown below). Jesse and Kirsten are now new partners. I think this partnership will be good for the both of them as they are both similar in style and WAY closer in height. Will the two be able to gel by next week? We’ll find out next Monday.

Thanks for checking in once again and we’ll see you next week!
