The show opened with an incredible homage to Michael Jackson, with the top twenty dancing to a Jackson Five medley. The brilliant performance was choreographed by Janet Jackson’s recent tour choreographer, Gil Duldulao.

Following the amazing opening number, the show quickly jumped into the elimination rounds bringing the first five couples to the stage; Natalie and Danny, Corynne and Anthony, Jamie Rae and Daniel, Tara Jean and Everett, and Melanie B and Taylor,

The first couple addressed and sent to safety was Danny (I’d-have-you-for-breakfast) and Natalie! Corynne and Anthony were next on the chopping block and were also sent through to safety. Third up for possible bottom three and elimination were Jamie Rae and Daniel, and they TOO made it through to safety! YAY! Three of my favourites already safe!!

The final two couples from the first group of five were left to learn their fate, with one couple being safe and one couple in trouble. Unfortunately, Melanie B and Taylor were sent to dance for their lives as Tara-Jean and Everett were sent to safety.

Next to the stage was the second set of five couples; Amy and Vincent, Jenna Lynn and Nicolas, Cody and Melanie Mah, Kim and Emanuel, and Tatiana and Austin.

First on the chopping block were Amy and Vincent and it was no surprise when they were asked to dance for their lives after the botched lift in Tuesday’s performance. Jenna Lynn and Nicolas were next to learn their fate alongside Cody and Melanie Mah. BOTH COUPLES WERE SAFE! YEEHAAAAA! The final two couples were left standing; Kim and Emanuel, and Tatiana and Austin. In a mother-nature-wreaks-havoc-with-an-unexpected-typhoon, Kim and Emanuel were SAFE while Tatiana and Austin were sent to dance for their lives.

At this point I was left to reflect on my predictions from the previous night, and I was holding strong with both of my predictions of Vincent and Melanie B leaving the competition.

To summarize, for those of you who get lost in my babble:

Bottom Three Girls: Melanie B, Amy and Tatiana

Bottom Three Guys: Taylor, Vincent, Austin

The solos were so ho-hum for almost all of the dancers, and I was really disappointed in Canada at this point for not stepping up and truly showing their individual talents. Amy was the only soloist who really turned out in her piece…no one else did. Seriously!? Was no one prepared?!

After the solos wrapped up and Leah babbled through her ‘this is so tough’ repetitions, we got down to business.

Girl leaving the competition: Tatiana

WHAT THE EFF?! She was incredible! What little we knew of her at this point didn’t even matter, her personality was bonkers-amazing!

Guy leaving the competition: Taylor

Another CRAZY elimination that shouldn’t have happened! How did this happen?!

Overall, an unbelievable night full of craziness and unexpected surprises. Seriously, Canada, get your SH*T together and put the AWFUL dancers in the bottom three. Really, you all want to see Emanuel butcher another genre? PICK UP YOUR PHONES AND VOTE! Clearly the fifteen phone calls I made this last week just we’re enough, so I’ll now be perched on my couch dialing for the whole of the two-hour window. Join me!
