Suitsupply Takes A Hit On Social Media After Gay-Inclusive Ad Campaign

Suitsupply is a men’s fashion brand from Amsterdam founded by Fokke de Jong. Just the other day, the international tailor debuted a terrific gay-inclusive ad campaign featuring some male model on male model kissing.

While many found it fantastic, not everyone felt that way. The company has received a backlash, with over 14,000 Instagram followers lost in just a few hours.

Founder Fokke de Jong probably isn’t surprised. Before the launch, he said “The attraction between people is an important part of fashion advertising. A campaign featuring the attraction between men was long overdue and particularly relevant for our brand.” He added, “We do believe there is potential for negative impact, especially in countries where we have a significant presence, that are known for contrasting viewpoints.”

Personally, I love the images and will definitely purchase something from the company to show support. Check out the 2018 spring/summer campaign images below.
