After an eight-year break, Sugarland returned this week with their sixth studio album, Bigger. To celebrate its release, the country duo unveiled the music video for “Babe” featuring Taylor Swift. Tay not only sings backup vocals, but she co-wrote it as well with Train’s Patrick Monahan. They originally penned it for Swift’s album Red, but ultimately was scrapped from that project.
The “Babe” clip features a retro Mad Men vibe. Jennifer Nettles plays a long-suffering wife whose husband, played Brandon Routh, is having an affair with a redheaded Taylor. Though she spends most of the video dealing with a philandering spouse, Nettles eventually kicks Routh to the curb. Sugarland’s other half, Kristian Bush, also appears in the video as a nosy neighbour.
