George Clooney Directs Matt Damon & Julianne Moore In ‘Suburbicon’

George Clooney reunites with Joel and Ethan Coen for Suburbicon. They’ve worked numerous times together including Burn After Reading, Hail Caesar, Intolerable Cruelty and O Brother, Where Art Thou? For their latest collaboration however, Clooney takes on directing duties with the brothers writing the screenplay.

Suburbicon is a peaceful, idyllic suburban community with affordable homes and manicured lawns…the perfect place to raise a family, and in the summer of 1959, the Lodge family is doing just that. But the tranquil surface masks a disturbing reality, as husband and father Gardner Lodge (Matt Damon) must navigate the town’s dark underbelly of betrayal, deceit, and violence. This is a tale of very flawed people making very bad choices. This is Suburbicon.

The upcoming crime comedy stars Julianne Moore, Oscar Issac, Josh Brolin, Noah Jupe and the aforementioned Damon. It’s set to screen at the 74th Venice International Film Festival and 2017 Toronto International Film Festival. Ahead of its premiere at the former, the first movie trailer has dropped. Check it out below. It looks like Pleasantville but with the mob, murder and mayhem.

Suburbicon arrives in theaters on October 27.
