Back in December 2016, just days after suffering a huge personal loss, Louis Tomlinson hit The X Factor stage to perform his new collaboration with DJ Steve Aoki. The 25-year-old singer dedicated his performance to his mother Johannah Deakin, who passed away after her battle with leukemia.
Now, on the heels of an altercation with paparazzi at LAX, for which he was arrested, the former One Direction member debuts the accompanying visual. If I were Tomlinson, I would stay clear from this track. It almost seems cursed as there’s an unfortunate personal moment preceding the promotion of the song.
“Just Hold On” is an uplifting EDM number with a slight tropical house vibe about never giving up. It’s done quite well with streaming, racking up 160 million streams and counting on Spotify. However, it’s only peaked at No. 52 on the Billboard Hot 100. Perhaps with the video now available, it’ll give it new life on the charts.
Tomlinson actually doesn’t appear in the clip. Instead, it follows a young couple magically transported around the world including stops in Las Vegas and in Kuwait via a special door. If long-haul flights were only this easy. No annoying lines at the airport or jet lag. Sign me up. Check out the cute clip below.
