As part of the Saturday video collection, I’m swinging way out to left field to promote an up and coming Canadian band, fresh out of Edmonton: Stereos.
Their first single, Summer Girl, has launched to #1 on the Canadian iTunes downloads chart, and is predicted as being the ‘song of the summer’. I’m not going to lie, it’s catchy, and basically the perfect blend of Backstreet Boys meets Blink 182. If there ever should be such a fusion, I’m unsure, but it seems to work for this quintet.
The band: Pat K, Robby, Miles, Aaron and Daniel. Damn good looking fellas, with Daniel stealing my attention. Must be something in the name…just saying.
The official music video can be found here:
With a nearly collective 200,000 YouTube views already for this week-long debut single, this band is definitely making waves in the Canadian market. Their rise to fame is largely credited to their appearance on MuchMusics’ DisBand. They were the first group to appear on the reality show to sign a major record label deal, which has ultimately proven to be the perfect launch pad.
I’ve now listened to this song four times on repeat while writing this article. Needless to say, I’m bobbing my head and prepping the download for the weekend festivities. Let the summer music styling begin!

Nice video. They’re no Metro Station, but it’s a good song. What’s with the auto-tuning though? so unnecessary.
