We’re finally down to our last showdown, with the winners for our Model Behavior and Man Crush Showdowns were announced earlier this week. Last year, the winner for the Sports Stud was Australia rugby player, Daniel Conn.

This year’s winner is both similar and different to last year’s and it isn’t who I thought was going to win. That being said, I’m very happy with the outcome and think he’s totally worthy of the title. Although there are only three athletes that made it to the end, there were countless hotties featured on the site in 2012 and many more to come in 2013.

We’ve featured many athletes over the past few years, but if there’s someone that we haven’t featured before that you think would be great, feel free to let us know! Also, thank you to all of the athletes for being such good “sports” with these features. Without further delay, find out who the winner is and who came second and third below.

3rd Place – Bronze

It was a close call this past week between Danny Care and the fourth place athlete, but in the end, readers took extra “Care” and Danny pulled through for the bronze. I had a hunch he’d make it to the finals when the Showdown process began and looks like my hunch was right!

Why I Chose Him: Having modelled for the Rugby’s Finest Calendar, it was a no brainer to feature him as a Sports Stud. Woof!

How He Got To The Finals: Placed 2nd In Round 3

2nd Place – Silver

This guy got a lot of exposure during the 2012 Summer Olympics and technically, I would have included him in my Olympic Hottie Showdown, but I had already previously featured him as a Sports Stud. Nice to have a gymnast amongst two rugby players.

Why I Chose Him: He was another Olympic gymnast I featured because the Olympics were coming up and when I came across his photos, it was a no brainer. Yum!

How He Got To The Finals: Placed 1st In Round 2

1st Place – WINNER – Gold Medal

The winner is once again a rugby player from Australia – David Pocock! There are so many reasons why he’s a great choice. Firstly, I’m a butt guy and this guy has arguably the best butt out of any of the athletes I wrote about this year. Secondly, although an Australian rugby player won laster year, Pocock actually has a very different look and body. Thirdly, he’s a supporter of the gays! That’s right, he’s a gay ally and has spoken publically about his support for marriage equality saying, “People don’t choose their sexuality and we marginalise the LGBTI community for what they are. I think that this is a conversation that needs to be had and that needs to be discussed compassionately and actually come to something that’s reasonable.
