Spencer Pratt Arrested

Lock up the lunatic! Spencer Pratt was arrested and released in Costa Rica on Saturday. He was planning on leaving the country but was charged with felony firearm possession charge and taken into custody at a local jail. He was later released after he turned in the weapons and signed a confession. The last thing this guy needs is a weapon. Here’s what he said to MTV:

“As part of my spiritual cleansing I’ve spent the last week living alone in the jungle, reflecting on my past transgressions, and working to become a better person. I had to live off the land, and hunt to survive. As I departed the country this morning to continue my spiritual journey, I mistakenly brought my hunting weapons to the airport. It was an honest mistake, and they sent me on my way. On an unrelated note, I’m not allowed in the country anymore — but that’s because of the chicken incident.”

This morning he Tweeted:

“Arrested in Costa Rica. If I knew the gov’t was Team Jacob, I wouldve kept my mouth shut.”

Clearly he’s still just doing stuff like this for attention. In fact, I don’t even know if all this stuff is legit or if he just made it up.

What do you do when you’re a celebrity and not working? Get arrested. I say they just lock him up and not give him any press for a while – alone with his own thoughts.

I chuckle every time I read comments about how incensed people that exist to report on celebrities are when they feel the 15mins have passed, yet here they are reporting about that same celeb.
The reason their 15mins hasn’t passed is because you won’t let it. Why not take your own advise and ‘not give him(them) the press.’

  • Unfortunately, it’s not a matter of playing peek-a-boo with people/things like this at all. While stories of murders, terrorist rants or even stories of wild actions to re-ignite failing fame: news is news. As long as there are people being affected or interested in hearing what happens out there the media (be it CNN, an editorial site or a facebook update) exists to present it.
I think Patrick accepts this is news to a lot of people and has put it out there as such, but he’s still fully allowed to resent the guy’s actions… kind of what an editorial is all about 😉
