On Friday, Solange Knowles released a new album titled, A Seat At The Table. It’s her first offering in four years, since True, which spawned the fantastic “Losing You.” Two days later, the 30-year-old singer unveiled accompanying music videos for two tracks off her LP. In true Solange fashion, they’re visually-stunning, breathtaking and full of stylish aesthetics.
On her website Saint Heron, the music videos are described as “a musical representation of the spirit within an unapologetically Black woman who is not interested in remaining silent in a critical time of identity, empowerment, grief, healing and self-expression – let alone, artistic expression.”
Solange co-directed both clips with her husband, Alan Ferguson. Definitely check them out below. The fashions alone are worth the watch. Also worth noting is the dance break in “Don’t Touch My Hair” at the 3:15 mark. Knowles absolutely slays the choreography.
