The South Korean contemporary R&B boy group, SHINee have just released their new music video for the title track of their new album, Dream Girl – and I really like it!
Despite the fact that they’ve been around since 2008 and this is their third studio album, this is the first time I’ve heard of them. Both the song and the video are a real throwback to what boy bands like N’Sync and Backstreet Boys were like in their prime. The band consists of five members named Onew, Jonghyun, Key, Minho, and Taemin.
I love their crazy outfits, the elaborate sets used, their dance moves, and most importantly the song itself. Check out the video and infectious song below and if you want to download the track, you can do so on iTunes here.

Listen to 2NE1, BIGBANG, KARA, and Sistar. They’re all really good, and 2NE1 is planning on coming to the US, while KARA is going for Europe.

omg i swear i cant believe this crap is what people are listening to from south korea. i wish i could be proud as a korean of the popularity of korean music but i cannot get behind this. i miss the days of k-pop when we had artists like uhm jung hwa, lee jung hyun, Fink.L, Baby V.O.X, and on and on. I could listen to older k-pop and it still sounds newer and better than the shit that gets produced now.
i swear all these boy bands and girl groups look the same and sound the same now at this point. i dont know why but k-pop copies so much of american music, like all they do is just change the lyrics and thats it. they call it a remake but its just a copy straight up. ho hum. i miss the good ole days of k-pop.

Justin: Yes, yes, how could anyone possibly like something that isn’t to your taste? I simply can’t imagine.
I don’t mean to pick on you specifically, because I’m sure you’re actually a really nice guy, but I’ve grown very tired of the trend of people loathing the current state of pop music, whether Korean, American, or other. In this case, you also seemed to throw in a dash of “let me prove how cool I am,” usually reserved for the more insufferable hipsters, by naming a bunch of older Korean pop artists that there is a negligibly small chance of any non-Korean having heard of.
People are allowed to like what they like, whether or not you like it. That goes for anyone, regarding most all there is to like, though I’ll stop short of saying “anything” for fear that it would get taken to unreasonable extremes. It doesn’t mean you aren’t entitled to your opinion – you are, and it is as valuable as anyone else’s – but please don’t use “expressing your opinion” as an excuse to belittle and degrade others for liking “the shit that gets produced now.” It’s unbecoming.

i named those artists because i listened to them and got excited when they released new music and could not wait for there performances. ive tried listening to the more recent k-pop and its doesnt sound great. try comparing the older k-pop songs with the new and there is a big difference in musicality where older songs seem to be catchier and more interesting.
its not trying to be cool when its the truth and on top of that as other koreans i have met would say the same thing since they have tried listening to both and they prefer the older k-pop to this new shit. if people want to listen to this go ahead if they dont go ahead it doesnt really matter.
