This September, the 29th to be exact, Shania Twain releases her fifth studio album, Up. It marks her first full-length offering in 15 years since Up was released back in 2002. The 51-year-old singer just premiered the lead cut from her forthcoming LP.
“I chose this as the lead single because, first of all, it’s very energizing, and I really felt that I needed to feel that positive energy, first coming back out again after so long,” Shania told iHeartRadio. “It just puts me in a good mood, and lifts me up, and also reflects on my true state of mind over these last few years that have been challenging. So, the song is about truth, pain, optimism, joy in pain, and it says everything I want to say after being gone so long.”
Given that her ex-husband, Mutt Lange, is no longer producing her new music, “Life’s About To Get Good” doesn’t stray too far from her past hits. The uplifting track is pop-country with a bit of folk thrown in for good measure. The country queen sings about getting over the ill feelings she once had for a lover that cheated on her. She’s letting go of the hate and forgiving and forgetting. It’s his loss honey. Onwards and upwards.
Check out Shania’s comeback single below. I can’t wait for the accompanying visual.
