#RenewSense8 Isn’t Happening Despite Numerous Petitions

It was always a long shot to begin with, but it looks like the ambitious globetrotting Wachowski drama is dead as a doornail.

When Netflix canceled Sense8 last week, numerous petitions popped up in hopes of convincing the streaming service to change its mind. Despite the public outcry, Netflix isn’t budging on its stance. The company’s Twitter pinned a tweet from the show’s official account, shooting down any hopes the show might get resurrected.

“To our Sense8 family…

We’ve seen the petitions.

We’ve read the messages.

We know you want to #RenewSense8,
and we wish we could #BringBackSense8 for you.

The reason we’ve taken so long to get back to you is because we’ve thought long and hard here at Netflix to try to make it work but unfortunately we can’t.

Thank you for watching and hope you’ll stay close with your cluster around the world.

Well, doesn’t that suck 🙁 While I never fully expected Netflix to greenlight a third season, I was hoping at the very least, a wrap-up movie would happen to tie up loose ends and give our sensates a happy ending. Guess, we’ll just have to settle for the fan fiction that will eventually come.

Despite this final nail in the coffin, hardcore fans are still vowing to pressure Netflix. May the force be with them. Are you bummed all hope is lost? Sound off below.

I sorta saw it coming. Season 2 was partly a mess, partly brilliant. I still can’t quite figure out what happened. It was like the episodes in the middle was added afterwards. The beginning was amazing and the last episodes again back to full form (although the ending seemed rushed to bits). This made me think that things are not quite well and that either Netflix or the directors are having issues and story lines were forced in. I loved this show though. Very sad to see it go.
