John Cho Looks For His Daughter In Critically-Acclaimed Thriller ‘Searching’ (Trailer)

How well does any parent really know their teenage child? No so much in John Cho’s case. When his daughter goes missing, he soon realizes she wasn’t as perfect as she seemed.

Searching is a psychological mystery-thriller which premiered at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival. The Aneesh Chaganty-directed film is shot from the point-of-view of smartphones and computer screens.

After David Kim (John Cho)’s 16-year-old daughter goes missing, a local investigation is opened and a detective is assigned to the case. But 37 hours later and without a single lead, David decides to search the one place no one has looked yet, where all secrets are kept today: his daughter’s laptop. In a hyper-modern thriller told via the technology devices we use every day to communicate, David must trace his daughter’s digital footprints before she disappears forever.

Debra Messing, Joseph Lee and Michelle La also star. Searching arrives on August 3. Check out the intense thriller below.
