If you thought the first teaser trailer for Gravity was intense, wait til you watch these brand new ones. Warner Bros. definitely goes for the jugular with their latest teasers. Both of which focus more on Sandra Bullock than on George Clooney.
In the aftermath of a catastrophic event aboard a spacecraft, Bullock’s character is forced to detach herself from flying debris. She then finds herself drifting into space alone unable to communicate with anyone. The two minute-long spots perfectly captures the sheer terror of the vastness of space with its disorienting camerawork. Rumor has it, Sandra spends the majority of the film utterly alone.
Gravity opens in 2D, 3D, and IMAX 3D on October 4th after being originally slated for last year. It was pushed back so that more time could be spent on the visual effects. Check out the “Detached” and “Drifting” teasers below.
Sandra Bullock plays Dr. Ryan Stone, a brilliant medical engineer on her first shuttle mission, with veteran astronaut Matt Kowalsky (George Clooney) in command of his last flight before retiring. But on a seemingly routine spacewalk, disaster strikes. The shuttle is destroyed, leaving Stone and Kowalsky completely alone–tethered to nothing but each other and spiraling out into the blackness. The deafening silence tells them they have lost any link to Earth…and any chance for rescue. As fear turns to panic, every gulp of air eats away at what little oxygen is left. But the only way home may be to go further out into the terrifying expanse of space.
