Guess Which Hollywood Hunk Is Playing Pikachu In ‘Pokemon’ Live-Action Film

Well, this is an interesting choice for the Deadpool actor. Ryan Reynolds has just signed on to star in the Pokemon live-action film, Detective Pikachu. He’ll play the titular character.

The 41-year-old Canadian actor joins Justice Smith (Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom) and Kathryn Newton (Big Little Lies) in the Rob Letterman-directed movie adaptation. “The story is kicked into gear when Smith’s character’s father is kidnapped, forcing the teen to team up with Pikachu in order to find him. Newton is a sassy journalist who helps them on their quest,” according to the Hollywood Reporter.
