Here’s a perfect example of life imitating art. If you’re watching The New Normal you know that the show’s gay couple played by Justin Bartha and Andrew Rannelis are expecting a child via a surrogate. The NBC sitcom is loosely based on Ryan Murphy’s life as a Hollywood director. On the comedy, there’s even a show within a show titled Sing! featuring a Lea Michele-like character from Glee. As of this week, there’s another similarity between the show and Murphy’s personal life. He and his husband David Miller welcomed a baby boy on Christmas Eve.
The couple announced their holiday bundle of joy to friends and family via email. Reportedly, a photo of their newborn son was attached. No doubt Miller who’s a photographer probably snapped the pic of the baby lying inside a Christmas stocking. So cute. I hope this photo makes its way online soon. Find out the baby’s name below.
In this day and age of celebrities trying to come up with unique names for their children, it’s refreshing that Ryan and David went pretty traditional. The duo named their firstborn Logan Phineas Miller Murphy. Love the name Logan. Doesn’t it just conjure up an image of a strong masculine persona? The baby weighed in at 6.6 pounds and measured at 21 inches. Murphy and Miller married this past July in Provincetown, Massachusetts. They definitely didn’t waste anytime starting a family. Most likely it was Murphy who accelerated the process. Check out this quote from an interview this year.
“I thought if I don’t do this … I’m 46 … I will really, really regret it,” Ryan Murphy told Vogue earlier this year. “I want the kid to be bold. And I have a lot of preparation, dealing with these actors. [They're like,] ‘Really? F–k you. I’m going to do the opposite of what you want.’ But I realize, you just have to let go or you’re screwed.”
Congratulations to Ryan Murphy and David Miller on their new baby son. We wish you nothing but the best for them and their new family.
