Russel Taylor, estranged husband to Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Taylor Armstrong was found dead yesterday in his Los Angeles home. A spokesperson for the LA County coroner stated the the 47-year-old was pronounced dead at 8:16pm on Monday night in his home on Mulholland Drive. The death was caused by hanging and no suicide note has been found.

Russel was an investment banker and a venture capitalist. His publicist says he’s the founding managing director of Crescent Financial Partners. It is also known that Taylor and Russel were in the midst of a divorce. Real Housewife executive producer Andy Cohen released a statement on twitter stating “”I am so very sad about today’s news. My prayers and thoughts are with Taylor Armstrong and her family.”

Taylor talked with E! Online last week about Bravo’s cameras capturing the fall out with her husband. Here is what she had to say:

“I know it’s going to be hard for me to watch a lot of it. It’s been such an emotional ride for me this year. And it’s one thing to experience it, but then to watch it again on television and know that millions of other people are watching, it’s going to be tough.”

It is no secret that these two had somewhat of an abusive marriage. Taylor had told People magazine that her and Russel would have explosive fights which would lead to him grabbing her, throwing things and the like. Russel did comment on the article saying that the show was pushing them to their limits and that him pushing her and them throwing things in the heat of arguments were no true characteristics of who they really are.

Despite filing for divorce, Taylor was hopeful that the two of them could co-parent their child. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Taylor and the Armstrong family at this time.
