Well, is it already time for the RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 5 cast?

Over the past few days there was a scavenger hunt over the web to find the new queens, totally a cute idea. It was over RPDR, Logo, NewNowNext Facebook pages, Tumblrs, Twitters and Instagrams. I just waiting for one of my FB friends to upload them all and voila (THANKS LOUIE!)

The styling theme for this season was Greek goddesses, or deities. It worked for some but not for other. One thing I am happy about is that there is a contestant from SEATTLE! Finally someone from the Pacific Northwest  There were some surprises, some not so surprises and a few people left out who I thought were for sure on it (Mayhem? Rhea?) Do you want the list? Here it is!

Alaska Thunderfvuk

We all know Alaska, and if you’re a true DRAG RACE fan you knew Alaska BEFORE Sharon. She has auditioned every year and looks like 5th time’s a charm.

Alyssa Edwards

Hailing from Dallas TX, this queen is a lot. Maybe too much? Check out her intro video and tell me what you think. Points for naming herself after Alyssa Milano though.

Coco Montrese

The Vegas Queen is a Showstopper. With a residency in the show capital of the world, does she have what it takes to win?

Detox Icunt

My top pick this season. DETOX is the real deal. Charisma, Uniqueness, Nerve and Talent to spare! I know she’s auditioned a bunch of times and so happy Ru came to her senses. Trust.

Honey Mahogany

A SanFran queen…have they ever had one on the show? My SF fam tells me Honey is not to be played with.

Ivy Winters

Gorgeous Ivy Winters. From her intro interview this queen is lovable and also very talented. She’s a designer so you know the sewing challenges are going to be easy breezy for this covergirl!

Jade Jolie

You think she can hear the ocean in that shell? Jade Jolie is just what her name says…JOLIE! Real pretty, but it takes more than looks to win Drag Race.

Jinkx Monsoon

JINKX! My second pick this season. I LOVE a good Pacific North West Queen. FINALLY!!! Jinkx was the only queen in the trailer that stood out. Check it out, her intro is hysterical. GO JINKX!

Lineysha Sparx

I’m not even going to pretend I know how to pronounce her name yet ;) You know me though, give me an African tribal look and I’m all about it.

Monica Beverly Hillz

KENYA MICHAELS IS BACK…Just kidding. But seriously Monica and Kenya look identical no?  Make sure you stand apart from a previous contestant, otherwise it could be your downfall.

Penny Tration

The fan favourite! Well technically there was a bit of dramz as Penny wasn’t the TOP pick (That was Adore Delano who wasn’t asked to be on the show). Penny was the better choice though for real. Can’t wait to see what she brings to the workroom.

Roxxxy Andrews

My third pick of the season. Roxxxy (3 x’s…count ‘em) has HANDS DOWN the best promo pic of the season. This pageant queen dominates every competition she enters. Is she the next BODY BEAUTIFUL?

Serena ChaCha

HA! Best. Name. Ever. That’s all I really know about Serena Cha Cha. I’m hoping this lint size beauty packs a big punch! GET YOUR CHA CHA HEELS ON HONEY!

Vivienne Pinay

The final queen is Vivienne Pinay. I’m going to add her as well to my top picks this season. Something about her. But she better not let me down when the season starts.

There is the new cast for RPDR Season 5. Alaska Thunderfvuk has finally made it on after 5 years of trying out. We’ve got a queen from Seattle (Jinkx Monsoon) and one from San Francisco (Honey Mahogany). I’m totally feeling Vivenne Pinay and Roxxxy Andrews for sure BUT I’m telling you right now…the world isn’t READY for DETOX ICUNT! She is my top pick this season hands down. One of the most original and creative and talented performers on the scene today.

My one complaint about this season is once again we’re going pretty fishy here. I know that Detox will bring some extra flavor to the show but I’m hoping I don’t see the same same same queen this season from everyone. Look at last season, Sharon Needles stood out completely and she won.
