While most reality shows experience viewership decline when they hit the decade milestone, that’s not the case for RuPaul’s Drag Race. The reality competition, currently airing its tenth season, is generating the franchise’s best ratings, averaging 1.2 million total viewers per episode. It’s no surprise VH1 has renewed the watercooler show for Season 11.
“We are thrilled that Drag Race will continue to lead the conversation of inclusion and diversity as the show embarks on its eleventh season,” VH1 executive Pamela Post added. “It’s unprecedented for a show to continue to grow on the scale that Drag Race has, and it’s just the beginning.”
In addition to the mother show, the network also greenlit another round of Untucked which features backstage banter between the queens as they await results.
“After 10 sickening seasons, the Drag Race phenomenon is just getting started,” executive producer and host RuPaul Charles said in a statement. “I want to thank VH1 for providing this amazing platform for a whole new generation of super talented drag queens.”
The Season 10 finale airs June 28. Which queen are you rooting for? Eureka, Aquaria, Asia O’Hara and Kameron Michaels ? Weigh in below.
