Watch out middle America! RuPaul and her drag army are slowly taking over the world. Shangela recently popped up on an episode of Glee having a fantabulous Kiki Turkey Lurkey Time. Now it’s some other drag queen’s turn to shine in the spotlight. In 2013, Happy Endings will have an extra sashay in their step.
TVLine.com first reported that this feroush queen is headed to the ABC sitcom. Here’s the interesting part. He won’t be dressing up in sequins, stilettos or caked on drag make-up. Instead, it’s an actual role and not a cameo. Reportedly, he’ll play Alex and Jane’s regular hairdresser who agrees to take on Max (Adam Pally) as a new client. This already sounds like a recipe for a hilarious disaster. Find out who it is below.

It’s none other than RuPaul herself RuPaul Andre Charles. Bet you didn’t see that one coming. Kinda pulled a fast one on you, didn’t I? This isn’t Ru’s first foray into acting. The 52-year-old entertainer has appeared on Sabrina, the Teenage Witch, Ugly Betty and Walker, Texas Ranger to name a few. He’s also popped up on the big screen in The Brady Bunch Movie, To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar and But I’m a Cheerleader.
No report on what date Ru’s episode will air but I expect it to happen before March 26. That’s when Dancing With The Stars returns and takes over Happy Endings‘ Tuesday 9pm slot. Looking forward to seeing RuPaul on Happy Endings? Do you still watch the ABC sitcom? Are you excited for the 5th season of RuPaul’s Drag Race in January 2013? Sound off below.

I remember Ru’s appearances in Sister Sister and edTV, back when I wasn’t sure if Ru was a drag queen or a real woman.
Happy for Ru in Happy Endings I guess, but I was hoping you’d say Jujubee…
Season 5′s trailer made me orgasm (Ivy Winters on stilts!). Season 3 is my favourite season, but I get the feeling S5 might just change that.
Jinkx, Ivy and CoCo are the queens I’m rooting for! (But I know Alaska and Detox will be worth the watch too ;-P)
