Unlike last year, RuPaul wasn’t able to attend the Creative Arts Emmys ceremony this year to accept the award. He did record an acceptation speech from RuPaul’s DragCon in New York. “Thank you Television Academy, so much, you make this queen so proud,” Ru said in the clip.

Last year’s win was a history making one for LogoTV. This year, however, the win goes to VH1 since the reality competition now airs on that network.
RuPaul’s Drag Race also won for Outstanding Costumes for Variety, Nonfiction or Reality Programming and Outstanding Picture Editing for a Structured or Competition Reality Program. The drag competition is also up for Outstanding Reality-Competition Program. The winner for that category will be announced on September 17 at the 69th Primetime Emmy Awards.
Congrats to RuPaul and here’s hoping he can make it a three-peat.
