‘Roseanne’ Second Week Ratings Slip But Still Strong

Roseanne returned to television with boffo ratings last week. The revival gave ABC its best viewership and demo numbers since November 2006 and November 2009 respectively with an impressive 18.2 million total viewers and a 5.1 demo rating.

The sitcom also set a DVR playback record with its L+3 numbers, adding another 6.7 million viewers and 2.1 rating. Overall, the premiere raked in an incredible 25.04 million viewers and whopping 7.3 demo rating. It’ll be interesting to see what the L+7 numbers are.

Naturally, everyone was wondering what numbers Roseanne would achieve for its second outing. No one expected the numbers to stay, but exactly how much would the show erode. The answer is 24 percent. Not ideal, but not that bad. Last night’s episode averaged 15.2 million viewers and a 3.9 adults 18-49 rating.
