Which ‘Charmed’ Actress Is Heading To Once Upon A Time?

Are you craving a little Once Upon A Time fix during the show’s winter hiatus? If so, this bit of casting news might do the trick. I know it has me amped up.

When OUAT aired it’s winter finale, Emma (Jennifer Morrison) and Snow White (Ginnifer Goodwin) made their way from the fantasy world back to Storybrooke. Unfortunately, they weren’t alone. Cora (Barbara Hershey) and Captain Hook (Colin O’Donoghue) were not far behind traveling via boat. No doubt to cause some major mayhem in the fictional town. When the fairytale series comes back, Cora’s back story will finally be told. How did she get so evil? How did she get her magical powers? Why does she treat Regina (Lana Parrilla) so badly? All those answers will all be revealed.

Playing the young Cora is an actress I adore. Here’s a hint. She played one of the charmed ones on The WB’s Charmed. Who do you think it is? Alyssa Milano? Perhaps Holly Marie Combs? Maybe Rose McGown? How about Shannen Doherty? The latter has certainly proven she can play a bad girl. Find out below.

If you guessed the wonderful Rose McGowan, then you guessed correctly. The 39-year-old actress is a perfect fit, given her experience on a magical series. She even kinda resembles Barbara Hershey. McGowan was most recently seen in Conan the Barbarian and on an episode of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.

What do you think of Rose joining Once Upon A Time? Excited about seeing Cora’s back story? Do you wish it was another Charmed sister playing young Cora? Sound off below.

Haha, I thought for sure it was Milano but McGowen is actually perfect. Not only do they resemble each other but they also have a very similar way of talking. The casting director of this show should get a bonus, it is almost as perfect as when we saw young Snow.

Rose McGowan will be the perfect young Cora; there is definitely some resemblance between the two actresses. Her being cast makes me even more excited about the return of Once Upon a Time. I can’t wait to find out what made Cora so evil, though a coworker at DISH and I have a few theories. I can’t wait to find out how she obtained magic in the first place. I am really glad that during the break, I can re-watch Cora’s evil moments this season using my DISH Hopper. The 2,000 hours of recording space have helped me stay caught up with the show, and I love that I can fast forward through the commercials on my recordings. Cora is one of my favorite villains from the show, so I can’t wait to learn her origin story. It will be interesting to see all of the factors that went into creating one of the most evil mothers of all time.

OK, yeah it can work. As long as McGowan doesn’t cry. She’s an awful crier, but her acting is pretty decent. It’s sort of going to be like that episode where Paige goes back to her past life as an evil witch. (Yup, i’m a hardcore Charmed Fan).
