For this week’s Sports Stud, I’ve decided to feature a handsome Canadian athlete and filmmaker named Rory Bushfield. The 30-year old is a former member of Canada’s World Cup team, skiing moguls. Prior to that, he also competed in slopestyle skiing before he later began focusing on backcountry skiing and filmmaking.

Bushfield was married to freeskier Sarah Burke and the two got married in Pemberton, B.C. on September 25, 2010. Burke was a four-time gold medalist at the Winter X Games and won the world championship in halfpipe in 2005. Sadley, she died after a training accident in Utah on January 19, 2012.

Earlier this year, Bushfield competed on a celebrity reality diving competition show called Splash on ABC. On May 7, 2013, the Squamish, B.C. resident ended up winning the whole competition! When interviewed for the show, Bushfield had this to say about his late wife: “My life’s changed drastically,” Rory says choking up. “I lost my wife. I had it all. I still have a lot. I’m thankful for everything I have, but I had it all.” He added, “Sarah was my dream girl before she knew who I was,” he says. “A lot of the craziest things I ever did were just kind of to impress Sarah.” I can’t imagine what that must be like. Wishing Rory the best with whatever new opportunities are ahead of him! Check out some photos of the handsome adventure-seeker below.
