With hosting gigs on America’s Next Top Model and the upcoming ABC series, Boy Band, not to mention being a red carpet fashionista staple, I thought Rita Ora had given up on music entirely. Guess I was wrong. The 26-year-old Brit is giving her recording career one more try.
Ora was set to conquer the world with her sophomore album, but things were derailed when her relationship with Calvin Harris ended. The sticky breakup included Harris taking back all the songs he produced for that LP and forbade Ora from promoting the lead single, “I Will Never Let You Down,” on live television. With that drama now behind her, Rita is back and with an infectiously cute track in tow.
“Your Song” isn’t a cover of the Elton John classic, but rather an original track co-written by Ed Sheeran. “Don’t want to sing mad songs anymore / Only want to sing your song / Cause your song’s got me feeling like that”, Rita sings on the adorable chorus. It’s the proper lead single off her long-delayed second studio album.
I really hope radio gives this a shot. I actually quite like it and have already listened to it numerous times. Give it a spin below.
