Last night, the highly anticipated (by me at least) series premiere of “Revenge” took place, starring Emily VanCamp – formerly of Brothers & Sisters. The result has been mixed reviews. Personally, I like the concept of the show, where the lead character is seeking the demise and sabotage of the family that ruined her life and killed her father. I watched the show with Tyrell last night, and he said he felt like he was watching a soap opera, but then found that it got better towards the end of the episode.

“Two wrongs can never make a right because two wrongs can never equal each other,” narrates Emily as she takes us into her world. The episode starts off as a flash forward, and also has several flashbacks to when Emily was a kid and her father was still alive. For the most part, we’re watching Emily’s plan of revenge unfold – firstly, by her moving into the beach house right next door to her enemy. Emily’s number one target is her ridiculously rich bitch of a neighbor, Victoria Grayson. This woman played a big part in what happened to Emily’s father, and Emily is determined to destroy her life (and everyone around her) in return.

Overall, I did like the premiere, but I wish it didn’t start out the way it did… with the murder of Emily’s future husband and Victoria Grayson’s son. It was like the show was climaxing way too soon… I prefer a little foreplay first. Regarding the murder, it looks like Emily had everything to do with the death and by that point, Victoria and Grayson and super-enemies.

If I had to choose between Revenge and Ringer, I’m definitely going to have to go with Sarah Michelle Gellar. That show has me on the edge of my seat and it doesn’t look like it’s going to be slowing down any time soon. I love me a thriller! Luckily, I don’t have to choose between the shows and I’m going to continue to watch Emily’s “Revenge” unfold. Keep “dishing” out your Revenge, Emily!”
