Fall television is just around the corner, and can we all shout a collective “hallelujah“. I’m so tired of summer television and ready for the networks’ new offerings and returning favorites. In the past few days, several casting announcements have been made pertaining to a few of my favorite shows. Most notably a “HUGE” recasting announcement on ABC’s Revenge. Without further ado, let’s get a crackin’.

First up is NBC’s most underrated comedy, Community. When the Greendale Community College gang returns, they’ll have to deal with a former Cylon. For all you Battlestar Galactica fans, you know what I mean. Former model Tricia Helfer has inked a deal for a guest starring role on an early episode of the show’s fourth season. Helfer will play a rabid “Inspector Spacetime” fan that Abed (Danny Pudi) meets at a show convention.

Next up is one of my former Man Crushes, Nick Zano. The 34-year-old actor seems to be a popular choice when casting guest stars. Last year alone, Zano appeared on 2 Broke Girls, Drop Dead Diva and 90210. This time around, he’ll drop by ABC’s sitcom, Happy Endings. He’s been cast as Penny Heart’s (Casey Wilson) new love interest. On the season finale, it looked like Penny had scored a new boyfriend in the form of Brian Austin Green. I guess that didn’t last. Nick is scheduled to appear in at least six episodes. Hopefully, some of them will involve him being shirtless ;)

On the first season of Suburgatory, producers planned on introducing Tessa’s (Jane Levy) absentee mom. The search to find the perfect actress proved so “tough“, according to series creator Emily Kapnek, that they kept delaying the character’s introduction. After an exhaustive search, Malin Akerman (Watchmen) scored the role of Alex, Tessa’s mom. Great choice. I think she’ll have great chemistry with Jeremy Sisto and Jane Levy. Suburgatory premieres on Wednesday, Oct. 17.

Lastly, the “BIGGEST” *wink* casting news of them all involves the addictive, Revenge. We already know that Jennifer Jason Leigh is playing Emily’s mom and Nolan is getting a new love interest, in the form of a woman. If you thought those were juicy, get a load of this. When the drama returns for Season 2, gone will be Nolan’s whale spy camera. Stepping into its place will be the clam cam. LOL. I already can’t wait for Season 3 to see what washes up on shore to keep Emily and Nolan informed. A shrimp cam, seahorse cam?

What do you think of all the above casting news? Excited for one of them more than the others? What shows are you looking forward to this upcoming Fall season? Sound off below.
