The early estimates are in for box office performance this weekend and it looks like Resident Evil: Retribution came out on top with an opening weekend of $21 million. Admittedly, I haven’t seen all of these films, but after seeing the preview for this fifth instalment, I was eager to watch it myself. The action flick stars Milla Jovovich as well as Michelle Rodriguez. No other video game-based movie series has come anywhere near this franchise’s successful longevity.

Finding Nemo 3D came in second place with an estimated $17.5 million in its opening weekend. This film definitely has to be one of my favorite Disney animations with Ellen DeGeneres as Dori – so hilarious. Another filmed that opened this weekend was The Master, starring Joaquin Phoenix, Philip Seymour Hoffman, and Amy Adams. The film was only limited release, but did super well considering that with an estimated $729,745. I can’t wait to see this one!
