Since the most common nickname for Portland is The City of Roses, its residents are probably used to beautiful things with pricks and thorns. That said, I’m sure the city wasn’t ready to be invaded by visitors this prickly nor thorny. The cast for MTV’s upcoming Real World season are definitely not wallflowers. This group came to party, fight and hookup.

For it’s 28th season, the veteran reality show heads to the Pacific Northwest for the second time. The first being The Real World: Seattle which aired back in 1998. If I’m not mistaken, this is the first season to feature five girls and three guys in the cast. I’m curious to know why there wasn’t an even gender split.

I haven’t watched The Real World for several seasons now. I hate to admit it, but I’m getting way too old for this sh*t. Last season’s The Real World: St. Thomas didn’t appeal to me in the least, even with its man candy. For me, to reject a reality show with hot guys… that’s saying a lot. With all this said, I think I might have to sample The Real World: Portland. Why? Easy… the city is one of my favorites to visit. With its abundance of microbreweries, food trucks, male strippers and no sales tax, how can I not ;) Check out the trailer below. Portlandia, this is not.
