“You give blowjobs to 19-year old guys!” It’s with that dig delivered by Adriana de Moura as to why we’re once again saying “Bienvenido a Miami”. After a shortened and lackluster first season of “The Real Housewives of Miami“, things looked bleak for another go round. Then all of a sudden, the LIVE reunion special happened and finally we saw some life in the series. Adriana doesn’t look like she’s calmed down one bit. In the Season 2 trailer she’s seen bitch slapping one of the new Housewives. Things are definitely going to get heated in the hottest city in the world.
After a bit of tweaking, new production company and major cast changes, Bravo is ready to present the new and improved “The Real Housewives of Miami.” Gone are Larsa Pippen and Christy Rice, which is a shame since I like them both and their catfight with Adriana was the best part of the show. But with the trashiness that is “The Basketball Wives“, Bravo was smart to ditch these baller wives. Also no longer an official Housewife is Alexia Echevarria. Her son was involved in a major car accident and she wanted to focus on his recovery. That said, she’ll appear in a few episodes as a “Friend of the Housewives“.
Joining the cast are a quartet of ladies looking to be the next Bravolebrities. Model and former “Dancing with the Stars” contestant Joanna Krupa, dentist Dr. Karent Sierra, former Playboy model Lisa Hochstein and celebrity chef Ana Quincoces join returning ladies Lea Black, Marysol Patton and Adriana de Moura for what looks to be an entertaining season. Whether shopping on Ocean Drive or out on the town in South Beach these ladies prove that in Miami, the skirts are short and so are the tempers. Since I’m a Housewives junkie, you know I’ll be glued to my television Thursday nights starting September 13th. Get to know the ladies below.
Official Miami Housewives
This Texas native leaves an indelible mark on Miami being a dedicated mom, devoted wife, committed philanthropist and savvy business-woman. With over 20 years of experience in the cosmetic industry, Lea Black founded her skin care line, Sudden Youth, which is now taking the cosmetic industry by storm and is based on “feeling good and living a fabulous life.” In addition, Lea is founder of the Annual Blacks Gala, which she turned into one of Miami’s landmark social events and also an opportunity to raise millions of dollars over the past fifteen years for her Consequences Charity. Lea and her husband, Roy, one of the top criminal defense attorneys in the country, have a 10-year-old son, RJ, together.
A life-long Miami native, Marysol Patton is best known for her work as a publicist and owner of The Patton Group, one of Miami’s prominent PR and event planning groups. From celebrity-filled red carpets to premiere events for top fashion companies and restaurants, Marysol and her team have their finger on the pulse of Miami nightlife. Always one for rubbing elbows with some of Miami’s most famous residents, Marysol is a fixture on the Miami social scene.
Adriana de Moura
Adriana DeMoura is best known as the Brazilian Bombshell of the Miami art scene. Before settling on Miami’s exclusive Hibiscus Island, Adriana studied art & culture in Florence and at Paris’ Sorbonne Institute. Between discovering new artists and hitting the boutiques on South Beach, Adriana concentrates her time on her 12 year-old son, Alex, who like his mother, is a burgeoning concert pianist. Adriana found love in Frederic, a Paris native who works as a hotel master designer. Together, the three of them are overhauling a 1920’s motor yacht with plans to move onboard after construction is complete. Until then, Adriana continues to soak up the sun and scene in Miami.
Born in Warsaw, Poland and raised in Chicago, Joanna Krupa is a supermodel and tv host who splits her time between Miami and Los Angeles. At 19, she decided to pick up and leave everything behind and move to Los Angeles to pursue her dreams of modeling and acting. Joanna has appeared on magazine covers including GQ, FHM, Shape and Playboy. In addition, Maxim magazine named her the “Sexiest Swimsuit Model in the World” and listed her as part of their “Hot 100” ranking of the world’s hottest women in 2011. This versatile beauty has guest starred on episodes of “Las Vegas,” “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation” and has been hosting and judging Poland’s “Next Top Model” since 2010. She also competed on “Dancing with the Stars” in 2009 with one-time champion Derek Hough. A huge supporter of the animal rights group PETA, Joanna has starred in several ads for the group including her controversial ad “anger for animals.” She has been engaged to Romain Zago, owner of Miami’s Mynt night club for five years. Her younger sister Marta and mom Jolanta are very active in her life and live with her while in Miami.
A self-proclaimed “professional housewife,” Lisa Hochstein is married to legendary Miami plastic surgeon Dr. Lenny Hochstein, who is known as the “Boob God” of Miami. Married in 2009 at their gorgeous Sunset Island mansion, Lisa and Lenny have been leaving their mark on the Miami social scene ever since. After traveling the world together to exotic locales like Venice, St. Tropez and Paris, the couple recently purchased a house on Star Island where they plan to move next year with their two dogs, Puffy and Leo. This 29 year-old beauty made three appearances in Playboy magazine and can often be found shopping, lounging and hanging out with her maid and best friend Daisy.
Ana Quincoces is a straight-shooting Cuban dynamo who tells it like it is. She is a successful business woman who is a partner at her law firm, in addition to being a celebrity chef and cookbook author. Voted Miami’s “Hottest Chef” by Eater Magazine in 2011, Ana insists her greatest achievements in life are her two daughters, Kati, 20, and Beba, 19. The girls have an undeniably strong, though sometimes unorthodox, relationship with Ana and their father, Robert. Even though Ana and her girls no longer live under the same roof as Robert, they still maintain a strong family bond and continue to share family dinners together several times a week.
Dr. Karent Sierra
Born in New York City and raised in South Florida, Dr. Karent Sierra is Miami’s #1 celebrity dentist who firmly believes that creating “perfect” smiles can change lives. After attending dental school in Wisconsin, she opened up her own private practice in Coral Gables and now refers to herself as a Miami native through and through. Always one to keep her Colombian heritage alive, Karent moved her retired parents into her mansion and has been dating her telenovela star boyfriend, Rodolfo Jiménez, for the past two and half years. With a heart of gold and smile to match, the former beauty queen reigned as “Miss Carnival Miami” in 1992 and was a featured model on Latin TV working on various commercials, infomercials, and enjoying stints as a hand model.
Friend of Miami Housewives
This “Cuban Barbie” holds the pulse of Miami’s Latin culture. As the executive editor of Venue Magazine, Alexia spotlights the latest fashion trends as well up-and-coming Latin film and TV stars. From photo shoots with Marc Anthony to luncheons with President Obama, Alexia and her husband, Herman, are the real deal when it comes to the “Who’s Who” in Miami. Alexia loves to spend time at her Miami Beach home and admits she is at times more of an older sister than a disciplinarian to her two sons from a previous marriage.
The Real Housewives of Miami Season 2 Trailer
What do you think of the new ladies? I definitely think Season 2 will be a million times better than the first season. I’m personally not a fan of Marysol coming back, but glad to see her cray cray mother Elsa returning. Word has it, Mama gets into a fight with a legendary Miami drag queen. FIERCE.
