That’s So Raven! She Officially Comes Out.

For years, rumors were abound that little Olivia from The Cosby Show was one big ‘ol lesbian. And for years, Raven-Symone has denied them. Back in 2008 and 2010, she wrote on her blog and Twitter respectively regarding her sexuality:

“ITS FALSE THAT IM DATING A GIRL RIGHT NOW,” she added. “IT’S RUDE TO QUESTION SOMETHING SO PERSONAL. WE ARE ALWAYS FIGHTING FOR THE RIGHTS FOR THE GAY AND LESBIAN COMMUNITY.” – Raven Symone (2008)

“not in a relationship with a girl.” – Raven Symone (2010)

Last year, another rumor surfaced that she was dating and shacking up with ANTM alum AzMarie Livingston. Again, the 27-year-old actress set the record “straight.”

“I’m living my personal life the way I’m happiest. I’m not one, in my 25 year career, to disclose who I’m dating. And I shall not start now,” she writes. “My sexual orientation is mine, and the person I’m datings (sic) to know. I’m not one for a public display of my life.”

“That is my right as a human being whether straight or gay. To tell or not to tell. As long as I’m not harming anyone…And my career is the only thing I would like to put on display, not my personal life.” – Raven

It seems that she’s finally changed her tune (sorta). Check out what she posted on her Twitter today.

“I can finally get married! Yay government! So proud of you” – Raven

It’s not a full out lesbian admission, but it’s pretty clear that she’s referring to the Supreme Court’s decision to strike down the Defense of Marriage Act earlier this summer.

What do you think? Did Raven just come out? As of publish time, media outlets have reached out to her people but have not received a response. I’m sure a statement will be issued in the coming days to clarify things. Sound off below.

  • I honestly respect her for keeping her PRIVATE life to herself. She never denied she was a lesbian, she just fought against the rumors of who she was dating. I see nothing wrong in that. Not every celebrity has to be an active public advocate for lgbt rights. They can live by example without having to expose the going-ons of their daily, personal lives.

I don’t think it REALLY matters one way or another. Like she said she never was the type to display her personal life. If all she wants to present publicly is her career then I’m all for it. That’s her business. If she is gay would it be nice to hear her “Come Out”, of course, but is it needed. No. It’s when people are comfortable.

  • Donovan, quoting Raven’s “I can finally get married! Yay government! So proud of you”. She is *i think not a lesbian but she supports this movement, and to me, she wrote that is actually to respond that, she can finally get married because, before, the Supreme Court did not approved the marriage act. And now, the Court has spoken and they approved the act and she can marry now to her man, who knows right? I do think that she is a really really great supporter to LGBT team!.
