I saw this picture a week or so ago, it was on PerezHilton.com. He posted it a couple after he got beat up by the BEP manager, and he used the word faggot, which was annoying. And the one thing that stood out from all of that, is that one of the first things he said was, “I have reached out to Isaiah Washington, I do not think of myself as a Gay Advocate” blah blah blah. Anyway, I don’t need to get into my whole issues with that punk, but he posted this picture with the headline “A Very Powerful Image”

Hmmm…yes I’ll agree that it’s a powerful image, but I don’t think it’s a positive one. People may jump down my throat on this one, but I’m used to it by now. I don’t think this is cool…at all. I think this is a cheap attempt at him trying to get back onto the good side of gay people. I also think Perez is completely transparent in his whole “I have talked to Isaiah and forgiven him” or whatever, when not even a year ago he was at the front lines of getting him fired, and hating him. It’s really tacky. After Perez is put in the same boat as Isaiah, he is all of a sudden forgiving him.
And BTW Perez…if you don’t want to be considered an activist or advocate for Gay Rights, quit acting like one, but then going against everything you say you stand for.
End Rant.

I completely agree. I believe that Perez Hilton has been more negative towards the gay rights movement lately. He spreads the hate around and is so consumed with his own image and celebrity. Confession: I still read his website everyday… So I suppose that I just feed the machine.

If you are interested in telling him how you feel, send him an email to his personal address.

The BEP event was horrible, he made jokes on Twitter (that he quickly withdrew) when the news broke of Michael Jackson’s death and his general tone on his site is overall negative and malicious.
