Long before Housewives were synonymous with Bravo, the network relied on five stylish gay guys to bring in the viewers. The second Queer Eye for the Straight Guy premiered, it became a phenomenon, making Ted Allen, Jai Rodriguez, Thom Felicia, Kyan Douglas and Carson Kressley instant celebrities.
The Emmy award-winning show’s premise played with stereotypes that gay men are superior in matters of fashion, style, personal grooming, interior design and culture. Eventually, the show shortened its name to just Queer Eye to include women and gay guys as the subject of their makeovers.
This October, Bravo is reuniting the Fab Five for a special titled Queer Eye Reunion: 10 Years Later. My silver fox crush Andy Cohen will host the special where the cast reflects on the ground-breaking series, reveal behind-the-scenes tidbits and give updates on their lives now. My personal favorites were Douglas and Rodriguez. Who were yours? Are you looking forward to the reunion? Sound off below.
