Spike Lee Directs Music Video For Previously Unreleased Prince Track

Mary Don’t You Weep” is a previously unreleased track from Prince. It’s a cover of a spiritual song that originates from before the American Civil War. It’ll be featured on the forthcoming posthumous album Piano & A Microphone 1983.

The Prince cover is also fittingly featured in Spike Lee’s dark comedy BlacKkKlansman about the first African-American detective in the Colorado Springs police department, who sets out to infiltrate and expose the local chapter of the Ku Klux Klan. The film stars John David Washington, Adam Driver, Laura Harrier, Topher Grace, Ryan Eggold and Alec Baldwin.

BlacKkKlansman is in theaters now. Check out the music video below directed by Lee.
