Pharrell Goes Runnin’ For Hidden Figures Soundtrack

pharrell-williams-runninHidden Figures tells the incredible untold true story of the women behind NASA. Katherine G. Johnson (Taraji P. Henson), Dorothy Vaughan (Octavia Spencer) and Mary Jackson (Janelle Monáe) were brilliant African-American women working at NASA during the Space Race. They served as the brains behind one of the greatest operations in history: the launch of astronaut John Glenn into orbit who became the first American astronaut to make a complete orbit of the Earth. The stunning achievement restored the nation’s confidence, turned around the Space Race, and galvanized the world. The visionary trio crossed all gender and race lines to inspire generations to dream big.

Pharrell Williams produced and composed the music for the upcoming dramatic film. The 43-year-old also contributed to the soundtrack. He premiered the lead cut titled “Runnin‘” earlier today. It’s a jazz-tinged soulful and feisty track. Perfectly suited for the film.

Hidden Figures gets a limited release on December 25, 2016, before expanding nationwide on January 6, 2017. Give Pharrell’s brassy swing offering below.
