HOLD YOUR BREATH…like seriously.
Last night, Peter Breeze launched his second music video, and I don’t think anyone was ready for it…myself included.
Peter Breeze and his gang of Heart Stealers are on a mission, they want your heart. (kinda how like Gaga wants you soul…hmm in Peter just on the quest for someone’s heart? Sorry I’m getting way to deep for a Sunday morning) With 6 in total including a who’s who of some of Vancouver’s best dancers and performers, this music video my Rami Films is hands DOWN the best thing I have seen made that is coming from Vancouver, Better than any other local music produced, better than any local television show produced, and especially better than any Web Series produced (but that’s a whole other posting all together).
The scene opens with Peter and his heart stealers sitting at a table, then they each go off in their own direction searching for their heart. Some go gay, some go dyke, some go straight but all end up in bathroom stalls. I’m not really surprised since I’ve seen most of those guys in the stalls in real life doing pretty much exactly that. The video is cut with great closeups of Peter, as well as some incredible dance routines, with choreography by Olivia Buckle (another one of these kids to watch).
If I could change one thing, it would be Peter’s purple shorts…but no matter how hard you try you can never get him out of them…believe me I’m speaking from experience. Take that anyway you like.
I’m giving this video a 4.5/5 because I can.
Enjoy it below, it truly is a masterpiece.

it looked like an unpolished video in terms of production…but loved the song and the concept.

UNPOLISHED! How is it unpolished? It is SO well done dude. Super high production, the way it’s shot and edited is brilliant!

i dont know the lighting and the acting seems weird and….when i say unpolished i mean like compared to Lady Gaga videos…but i agree with you when you say its the best I would expect out of a locally produced video.

That’s it? Peter’s music is just too overproduced. His voice in general shouldn’t need to be auto tuned that much. That video was probably one of the best attempts at being a suitable quality of overproduction for a very “meh” song.

OMG you CANNOT compare a locally produced video on a shoestring budget to a Lady Gaga video who has thousands and thousands and THOUSANDS of dollars.
Come on now.

@Baby G
Thats the fallacy. You guys post something claiming to be the next big awesome thing. Frankly, its not. And when you don’t like that reaction you challenge us to make something which invariably you’ll decry as inferior.
I dare you to find something better.

I agree with her. You try adding anything to society other than a weak attempt at being an internet bully.

Internet bully? I simply and quite fairly turned the argument around. I could be on here trolling and actually insulting people for their opinions. THAT would be “internet bullying”.
My opinion, and unfortunately for you, It won’t change. Peter isn’t great. Perhaps he’s one of the better artists to come out of Vancouver’s gay-club-kid scene, but thats all he’s singing. Its club music for the gay scene. It hardly affects me or countless other gays who are just tired of the burnout syndrome that plagues the Vancouver community. Peter in this video looks like he’s burnt out, the dark cirlcled makeup makes him tired and old looking. Even the white makeup, you can see the wrinkles and age… and he’s only what.. 19-21? The symbolism at the end of the movie with the cow hearts and the “blood drinking” or red wine, whatever you want to call it, is out of place with the rest of the video. I smell Alejandro on that. Even the table of “communion” looked badly Lady-Gaga-esque.
Now, if I may challenge you Tommy, I would say that volunteering for your local shelter or at a hospital, or even the SPCA contributes more to society than this video. His addition to society is limited to the club scene, and perhaps even limited himself further to the “gay” club-scene, of which I’m rapidly growing bored and uninterested in.
You’re free to enjoy the music, the video, and worship the ground he walks on if you’re so inclined. Don’t take offense to us “haters” who come here with ideas and opinions that don’t mesh with yours. Not all of us are carbon copy gays with a single collective mind. Isn’t that what makes the rainbow pretty ;)

I have ZERO strong opinion on this video or Peter either way as I’ve never met or really heard any of his songs much but it IS a bit odd Tommy that you wrote this article about Christina Aguilera being a “total rip” of Lady Gaga when I see huge similarities between what Christina did and what Peter has done here… how come the same standard of “homage”/”ripping off”/etc. doesn’t apply for him?

How little you truly know about me and how much I actually do for charity on a yearly basis. But that IS the point of charity, to do it. Not to get praise, but to just do it.

You’re right. I know absolutely nothing about you, and no slight intended, I don’t really care who you are or what you do. The point is that you challenged that I should add to society. I simply listed a few things that do; much more than this movie or song will ever.

1. Her eyes when she’s in the chair: his the whole time.
2. The black leather vs. white motif parallelled in each.
3. The X’s on her outfit: exactly the same on his forehead.
4. The girl on girl theme of singing and screwing parallelled in each.
5. Identical hair colour by Christina and Peter.
6. Both using direct Catholic allusions: Her’s in the church, his with the last supper.
7. X’s come up again later with the face mask girl with X’s all over it again the exact same as the dancers with Peter’s.
8. Theme of ball-gagging and bondage parallelled in Christina’s gagged dancers and Peter’s with their mouths tapped up.
But, like I said, no strong feeling either way.. just wanted to back up what I was saying. I’ve only seen it twice mind you so this is just off the top of my head ;)

I think perhaps watching the video a time or two more before sharing your well thought out opinions might give you some more in-sight as to what it is about.
Im pretty sure there is a very unique story line involved and it may take the average viewer a few times over to understand it. Remember not all references are in regards to the past.

Haha, BabyG, that’s kind of my point sugar. I haven’t watched it many times because I don’t really feel the need to as i don’t have a strong opinion like i said about peter breeze. Not really on my radar but was more writing to poke at tommy a bit to make sure he held up the same level of expectation of “music starts”, in that if he was going to call Christina out for being so similar and quote “blatantly ripping off” Lady Gaga, he should also be conscious and vigilant of how ridiculously similar Peter’s is to Christina’s..
To your second point, I’m not sure how to respond… I’m under the impression both the connotation and denotation of “reference” IS to things that are or have happened… in the past… maybe my dictionary is out of date: I’ll have to try yours ;)
