‘Pet Sematary’ Remake Starring Jason Clarke & John Lithgow Debuts Creepy First Trailer

When IT wreaked havoc at the box office in 2017, Stephen King’s other novels quickly got pushed into development. Ergo this new film adaptation of King’s iconic 1983 horror novel.

Pet Sematary first hit the big screen in 1989. The Mary Lambert-directed film starred Dale Midkiff, Fred Gwynne and Denise Crosby. This time around, Kevin Kölsch and Dennis Widmyer direct with Jason Clarke, Amy Seimetz and John Lithgow headlining the cast. Paramount Pictures just released the first trailer and it’s a creepy affair.

Sometimes dead is better. Based on the seminal horror novel by King, Pet Sematary follows Dr. Louis Creed (Jason Clarke), who, after relocating with his wife Rachel (Amy Seimetz) and their two young children from Boston to rural Maine, discovers a mysterious burial ground hidden deep in the woods near the family’s new home. When tragedy strikes, Louis turns to his unusual neighbor, Jud Crandall (John Lithgow), setting off a perilous chain reaction that unleashes an unfathomable evil with horrific consequences.

Pet Sematary arrives in theaters on April 5, 2019. Watch the official trailer below.
