Last night, CBS housed the People’s Choice Awards hosted by Kaley Cuoco of the networks hit comedy, The Big Bang Theory. The show opened with a hilarious concept of Kaley playing her character from the show as her and the rest of cast got ready to watch the show and cast their votes for the nominees. Suddenly, her agent calls her to attend the show as a seat filler but once she gets there, switches gears and begins to the host the show. While going through her opening monologue, she’s interrupted by Neil Patrick Harris who is sitting in the audience and wearing a mic. Not today NPH, not today.
The show moved along surprisingly quick with only two musical acts throughout the show. The first came courtesy of comeback kid, Demi Lovato who rocked it out in a red dress. The second performance was from Faith Hill who did her country rendition of OneRepublic’s Come Home.
The show also scored a few highlights including a great kiss shared between Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka when Neil won for favorite TV comedy actor. Another slam dunk was Jane Lynch’s portrayal of the show’s seat coordinator. Interviewed by ET’s Mark Stenis, she showed the audience just how she “decides” where celebrities sit. The cast of Pretty Little Liars presented a few categories themselves and the biggest miss of the night goes the horrible CVS Pharmacy product placement stint which went on for far too long. Check out the full winner’s circle and some of my favorite moments in video form below.
