26 years ago when she was just 23-years-old, Julia Roberts snagged her first World’s Most Beautiful title from PEOPLE. Just shy of her 50th birthday this year, Julia Roberts scores her record-breaking fifth cover from the publication. No one even comes close. Jennifer Aniston and Michelle Pfeiffer are in second with two covers each.
“I am very flattered,” she tells PEOPLE’s editor-in-chief Jess Cagle in this week’s cover story. She jokingly added that the best is yet to come, “I think I’m currently peaking.”
“People say, ‘Oh, when Pretty Woman came out it must have really changed your life,’ and it’s kind of become this joke, but the truth is I was out of town when Pretty Woman came out,” she says in the cover story. “I was in another movie in this tiny little town that was showing Star Wars in its first run. I remember reading … ‘Pretty Woman came out this weekend and made this much money’ and I thought, ‘Is that a lot of money? Is that good? Is that great?’ I didn’t really know.”
Roberts can next be seen in the upcoming drama, Wonder, directed by Stephen Chbosky. Jacob Tremblay, Owen Wilson and Mandy Patinkin also star. It arrives November 17.
Do you think Roberts deserves a fifth title or do you think the glossy should’ve spread the wealth and given it to another actress. Sound off below.
