About six months ago, celebrity cook Paula Deen announced that she had been diagnosed with Type II Diabetes. Deen received a lot of flack from critics who were quick to judge Paula for creating fatty foods for her fans despite the fact that she knew about her diabetes well before she made an official announcement. Some even called her a hypocrite. Now, Paula is staring those critics down after a dramatic slim down that she is showcasing on the cover of People Magazine.
After I saw the cover, I have to admit: the slim down is pretty dramatic. You notice it the most in Paula’s figure. Her normal curvy self has been replaced with a slender figure. The 65-year-old Food Network star admits “I do think differently now” about food. “I’m more aware.” Instead of immediately heading to her “trigger foods” like mashed potatoes, fatty foods and sweets, Paula has found a new love for Greek salads and baked fish. Clearly, her new efforts have really paid off losing an astonishing 30 lbs. She explains further in the magazine’s cover story:
“It took me a couple of years to get to this point. If you make a few small changes, they can add up to big results.” The magazine doesn’t hit stands until Friday but thankfully People is showing off the cover for us to check out. Take a peek below.
